If it’s not an expired license plate, then it seems like it’s always a California one, right?
Though if I’m being honest it’s the none-classic cars with the “Classic Car” plates that really annoy me. Why should we pay hundreds of dollars each year to register our cars while some chumps like about their car being a classic so they can get cheap registration?
Anyways, would it surprise you to learn that recent data shows the highest percentage of moves from overseas in years to our state?

Apparently over 22% of people moving to Nevada in 2023 came from outside the United States. And no, I don’t know why 2023 data is the most recent they have.
In regards to those pesky California license plates we keep seeing, apparently 2014 & 2019 WERE tied for the highest number of Californians moving here. During those years, 41.2% of all people moving here were from California.
Ready to hear the 2023 number? You guessed it – the number of Californian is on the rise with 44.3% of new residents coming from California.
So, it’s not just you. There really are more cars from California on our roads these days.
Hopefully they’ll start paying to register their cars here, too.
